Of all Maine birds, owls are among the most difficult to study.  Not only are owls secretive and nocturnal, but the best time to go listening for many of them is in winter!

David Brinker (of Project Owlnet and Project SNOWstorm) and Logan Parker (Observatory Ecologist) will talk about what we know about Maine's owls, what is still a mystery, and the efforts underway to better understand them.  Plus, get an exciting preview of upcoming projects to monitor Long-eared, Northern Saw-whet, and Boreal Owls in Maine.
