Want to help the Maine Bird Atlas but not sure how? Looking for a gift that makes a difference?
Support the Maine Bird Atlas by sponsoring one or more of Maine's 253 breeding and wintering bird species!
Sponsorships make great gifts for friends or relatives of any age. 100% of your sponsorship dollars go toward atlasing efforts in the most remote regions of Maine. Getting a glimpse into these remote areas and pristine habitats is vital to helping us understand Maine bird populations.
There are six sponsorship levels so you can find the one that works for you. Each species is available to be sponsored once for each year of the project. You may sponsor a species in memory or in honor of a person or in the name of an organization.
The Maine Bird Atlas is a project of the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife in partnership with Maine Natural History Observatory, Maine Audubon, and Biodiversity Research Institute.

All Sponsorship Levels Receive
- A Sponsorship Certificate mailed to you, personalized with your name and optional dedication.
- Recognition on this website and an acknowledgment in the published Atlas on the species page.
- The knowledge that your tax-deductible donation is going toward the conservation of Maine birds.
We are grateful to our many sponsors for supporting the Maine Bird Atlas!
